Another Royal Wedding

The royal family has seen its fair share of nuptials this summer. First it was Will and Kate with their larger than life London wedding. Then, last weekend Zara Phillips, one of the Queen's granddaughters, married British rugby star Mike Tindall in Scotland. Zara, who is 13th in line for the throne, wore an ivory-colored gown with a drop-waist bodice and a full, pleated skirt with a train. The silk faille and silk duchess satin gown was created by Stewart Parvin, the Queen's personal couturier (I know, tough life!). The royal bride finished off her wedding day look with a cathedral-length silk tulle veil and a sassy pair of Jimmy Choo shoes. We're sure her the Queen was just bursting with pride!

Kate's Flashy Fascinators

With the much-discussed royal wedding set to take place in less than a week, we think it's a good time to feature one of bride-to-be Kate Middleton's favorite things: fascinators. Don't worry if you've never heard of a fascinator-- it's a pretty obscure term used to describe those feathery hairclip/hat combos that Kate has made so popular over the last few months. Still not sure what a fascinator is? Check out a few of Kate's latest looks...

Obviously, possible princess-to-be Kate can pull off this bold look but we're wondering if commoners can get away with it too. What do you think-- would you wear a fascinator? Do you think we'll see Kate wearing one on her big day?

A Royal Wedding

Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to marry at West Minster Abbey on April 29th! Whether you follow the royals or not, this wedding will be huge- and not only on a literal level. This wedding will also influence all future weddings from the floral choices, to the decor, to the dress. Here's what we know about Miss Middleton:

1) The Ring: Kate wears late Princess Diana's engagement ring: a rich, royal blue sapphire with a halo of diamonds in a shared setting.

2) The Arrival: Ny Mag reports that Kate will arrive via Rolls Royce instead of the glass carriage that previous royals, including Princess Di and Sarah Ferguson, have chosen. Her choice reportedly reflects her desire to downplay the whole princess thing.

3) The Dress: Ok, we can't write a post about Kate and Wills and not speculate on the dress, so here is our two cents, for what it's worth: She will most likely wear a conservative gown for two reasons. One, she's got to follow in the footsteps of all the royal ladies before her, and they were all pretty conservative. Two, she dresses pretty conservatively in her daily life, so this may be more of a natural choice than we think. We're willing to bet that whatever her choice, she will definitely have a train. With her tall and slim body type, we think these options would look fantastic on her:
