Saying Grace

(Source)

It's a challenge many brides face when it comes time to assign roles for the big day: too many awesome people in their lives, and not enough ways to honor them at the wedding. If you're looking for a way to have someone extra special in your life stand out on your day, think about having them say grace before dinner or brunch. If you're religious, it's a nice shot-out to God during your wedding. For example:

Generous God, giver of all good gifts,
we praise and thank you for Gina and Joe
and for allowing us to witness their love.
May the joy of this gathering and the food we share
be signs to us of your constant love.
Bless us and the food we eat
and give us grateful hearts to sing your praise
now and for ever. AMEN.

And if you're of the non-religious variety, you can ask your VIP to say a blessing focussing on gratitude, creating a sweet moment of pause on your big day. For example:

For food in a world where many walk in hunger;

For faith in a world where many walk in fear;

For friends in a world where many walk alone;

We are thankful.
