Doing the Deed

(Source)

The moment has been romanticized in thousands of movies: The candles are lit, the bath is drawn, rose petals are strewn across the room, and the bride is in her gown ready to, ahem, consummate the marriage. If you believe what you see in the movies, that first time doing it as husband and wife is all butterflies in fireworks. But real life does not usually match the expectation. Reality more commonly looks like this: The groom is drunk, the bride has blisters on her feet, and both of them are too tired to do anything special. The build-up can be a little overwhelming but we're here to tell you: you don't have to do it! Or at least, don't do it if you don't want to. If you really want the first time to be special, think about waiting until the next day. You'll both be well-rested and sober and neither one of you will feel like you're leaving the party early. And come on, don't you want to be the last ones to leave the party anyway? Do yourself a favor and do the deed-- the next day!
